Courtney Love claims ID thieves stole millions from Kurt Cobain’s estate
Courtney Love claims that identity thieves are using Kurt Cobain’s information to buy a house and cars. According to sources, the New Jersey mansion cost $3 million and they have looted his estate to the tune of $72 million total.
Courtney told cops about the fraud last week and said that the scam artists obtained as many as 199 credit cards in Kurt’s name.
What I have to wonder is why no one would notice that much money going missing? And another really big thing is, nobody thought to check that the name actually belongs to someone who’s deceased??? It makes no sense to me.
Courtney says, “It was fraud after fraud, but nobody believed me until now.” She now says that she believes she knows the culprits. She stumbled onto the scam five years ago, but said that she was too strung out to stop it.
Aside from the mansion, the thieves bought cars and cashed checks written against Kurt’s estate.
“I know who they are,” she declared. “It had been going on since when I went cuckoo, bananas, in 2003.”
