Yoko Ono is suing to disallow Lennon name from being used by band

Yoko Ono is taking legal action against a band for calling themselves “Lennon”. She has claimed in court documents that Lennon Murphy, the band’s singer, has fraudulently registered the name as a trademark.
Yoko also alleges that Lennon Murphy is responsible for the “tarnishment” of John Lennon’s name and also claims that Murphy is intentionally exploiting the name and confusing people by using it.
Ms. Murphy claims that Yoko and her legal team did not object in 2000 when the group wanted to use the name for its debut release.

Mel Gibson stands accused of fraud, breach of contract, and unfair business practices in a lawsuit filed by the co-screenwriter of his religious epic, The Passion of the Christ. Benedict Fitzgerald is accusing Mel of engaging in a “chronic and conspiratorial pattern of deceit” by telling the writer that he was working on a project with a budget of between $4 million and $7 million.
Fitzgerald claims that he was only paid $75,000 and that he had to borrow $200,000 from Mel to cover expenses.

U-God sues Wu-Tang Clan’s label

U-God of the Wu-Tang Clan is suing the band’s record label, stating that they owe him $170,000. The rapper is saying that they company owes him the money for a tour, albums, and a European record contract.
This isn’t the first time that U-God has feuded with others in the Wu-Tang circle. He left the band in 2004 over a dispute with The RZA.
The show must go on for the rappers, who are scheduled to appear tomorrow night in New York City.

Cedars-Sinai issued citation for Quaid twins screw up

A citation has been issued against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a huge screw up that involved three newborns getting the wrong dosage of Heparin. Two of the victims were the newborn twins of actor Dennis Quaid.
The L.A. Times is reporting the California Department of Public Health found the hospital failed to “adhere to established policies and procedures for safe medication use … These violations caused, or were likely to cause, serious injury or death to the patients who received the wrong medication.”

Ne-Yo is saying that R. Kelly nixed him from their Double Up tour of North America in 2007, due to the large audience response that he was receiving and is saying that R. Kelly was jealous of that.
Compound Touring claims to have spent “substantial monies in preparation for the tour and turned down other touring and performance opportunities for Smith in reliance on Rowe’s agreement that Smith would perform on the tour”.
Though the original reason for Ne-Yo’s departure was cited as a contractual dispute, he has claimed R Kelly became jealous of the crowd’s enthusiasm for Ne-Yo’s performances.
